Williamson County Sheriff Bennie Vick wants to warn residents of a series of catalytic converter thefts.

These converters are a required part of the exhaust system on any vehicle manufactured after 1974. Many contain small amounts of valuable metals, which makes them attractive to thieves.

Williamson County Sheriff Bennie Vick says another phone scam is working through the area.

The Sheriff's Office has taken reports from residents who have received phone calls from a man who identifies himself as Deputy Anderson or Deputy James. He claims to be from the Williamson County Sheriff's Office.

Williamson County Sheriff Bennie Vick says there was a carbon monoxide issue Wednesday morning at the Williamson County Jail.

He says an inmate first complained of a headache at around 4 a.m. The inmate was treated at an area hospital and returned to the jail.

The 11th annual Williamson County Traffic Safety Days comes to a close on Friday.

This year over 1400 drivers ed students from 30 area high schools attended the daylong event.

He says local businesses have reported receiving calls from a person who claims they are representing the Williamson County Sheriff's Office to raise money to provide coats for needy children.
