Southern Illinois University Carbondale is canceling summer camps and conference housing for summer 2020 due to ongoing efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19.

Sending a child to overnight camp can be nerve-wracking for any parent. It’s even scarier if they have a child with a chronic illness. But a camp in Illinois offers a safe option for kids who have Type 1 diabetes.

An event this fall in southern Illinois will try to develop strategies to address what organizers say is the urgent crisis of climate change.
