While the government remained closed today, Commuincation Design Senior Sloan Marion ended his first week back at Southern Illinios University Carbondale unable to officially enroll due to the shutdown.

Marion says his predicament began when the university requested a tax transcript to verify his finacial aid.

"In order to get a tax transcript, you have to get those through the IRS. Now with the government shutdown, you can't get anything from the IRS," Marion says.

That's because the IRS is closed, as well as many other federal agencies during the shutdown.
