Some Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville faculty members say they are considering organizing a union because of budget woes and potential layoffs.

A measure sponsored by State Senator Gary Forby is designed to put more money into the SIU system.

The Benton democrat's bill would allow the SIU Board of Trustees to sell, lease or transfer and convey surplus real estate and retain the proceeds to be used for a scholarship fund.

Some SIU School of Medicine students had a chance to give check ups to some unusual patients on Thursday.

They were dolls and stuffed animals.

It’s part of the annual doll clinic held in conjunction with SIU head start.

Spring enrollment at Southern Illinois University Carbondale is down.

A Chicago man who said he was seeking attention on a campus where he was bullied and harassed has been sentenced to two years in prison after pleading guilty to making bomb threats in a self-declared "war'' on Southern Illinois University in Carbondale.

Former SIU head football coach and current Minnesota head coach Jerry Kill surprisingly announced his immediate retirement from coaching Wednesday.

The 54-year-old Kill, who has beaten kidney cancer and suffers from epilepsy, cited medical reasons for the decision.
