The City of Carbondale Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in a robbery investigation.  On 07-28-2019 at about 9:45 p.m., officers with the City of Carbondale Police Department responded to a business located in the 1900 block of West Main Street in Carbondale in reference to a report of a robbery.  Officers learned an unknown suspect battered the victim and stole property.  The suspect fled east from the business.  The image below displays an individual who is considered a person of interest in this incident.  Anyone with information about the individual picture below or about this incident is encouraged to contact the police department at 618-457-3200 or Crime Stoppers at 618-549-COPS. A Jackson County Jury finds a Carbondale man guilty of robbery following a two-day jury trial.

The Jackson County State's Attorney says 49-year-old Alphonzo Higgins could face six to 30 years in prison.

A Marion man found out how long he'll be behind bars for robbing the Valero Gas Station.

The U.S. attorney's office says 38-year-old Travis Taylor received a five-year federal prison sentence. He previously pleaded guilty to a one-count indictment.

A Herrin man is charged with robbing a Marion gas station.

The U.S. attorney says Travis Taylor is accused of robbing the Valero Gas Station in Marion on April 25th.

A Jackson County jury returned guilty verdicts on charges of Robbery and Aggravated Battery against a Carbondale man.

The Jackson County State's attorney says 35-year-old Joe Coleman, Jr. faces a maximum sentence of seven years in prison on the Robbery charge and up to five years on the Aggravated Battery charge.

The Cities of Carbondale and Herrin are offering a $3,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for a recent string of armed robberies in both cities.

Seven robberies occurred from July 27th through September 16th.

Three University of Illinois football players are charged with burglary and robbery after what they claimed to be a prank on a fellow dormitory resident.

Carbondale Police are investigating an early morning armed robbery at the Circle K Gas Station on East Walnut in Carbondale.

Officers say the suspect entered the business around 2 a.m. Monday with a handgun and demanded money. The suspect took some cash and fled on foot.


One of the four suspects in a tavern robbery that led to a Union County manhunt last month has pleaded guilty.
