Residents of a mobile home park in Alexander County have been evacuated due to the high level of the Mississippi River.

An order was issued Monday night in East Cape Girardeau. Electricity was being cut off Tuesday. Members of the Illinois National Guard are building sandbag barriers in the area.

An Ohio River bridge connecting southern Illinois and western Kentucky will remain closed for about five more months.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says an ongoing maintenance and repair project will require more work at the Brookport Bridge at Paducah.

A ceremonial ribbon cutting 30 years in the making is scheduled for late summer in southern Illinois.

The ceremony at Olmsted Locks and Dam near the confluence of the Mississippi, Ohio, Tennessee and Cumberland Rivers will take place on August 29th.

Officials say a woman whose body was found in the Ohio River a day after two other bodies were recovered has been identified. 

Second Update: Authorities say one of three bodies found in Ohio River was shot in the back of the head. Daviess County Sheriff's Dept. says the body also had ligature marks around the neck.
