SIU Carbondale has been interviewing candidates for the Chancellor position since April.

Two of the original four candidates, Carl Pinkert and Jeff Elwell, withdrew from consideration. 

The four finalist are Current Interim Chancellor Brad Colwell , Oakland University President George Hynd, Fisk University Provost and Vice President Rodney Hanley, and University of Alberta Professor and Ingenuity Lab Founder Carlo Montemagno.

One of the four finalists for the chancellor's position at SIU-Carbondale has withdrawn from consideration.

J.S. (Jeff) Elwell has withdrawn from the search due to his appointment as president of Eastern New Mexico University.

The Chancellor Search Advisory Committee at SIU-Carbondale will begin reviewing applications on January 15th.

The school says ads soliciting applications and nominations were placed last week in both print and online editions of several higher education publications.
