Indie Lens Pop-Up, presented by ITVS, INDEPENDENT LENS, and WSIU/Carbondale Public Library will host a free dinner and screening of the critically-acclaimed documentary “Breaking the News,” featuring a community discussion about better media coverage of diverse issues and perspectives. The discussion will be moderated by Alee Quick of the News Literacy Project and WSIU Executive Director Fred Martino, Ph.D.

On Wednesday, November 8 at noon, join WSIU at the Carbondale Public Library for an Indie-Lens Pop Up screening: A Town Called Victoria. When the local mosque is burned to the ground, the town of Victoria, Texas, must overcome its age-old political, racial, and economic divides to find a collective way forward. The film debuts on WSIU-TV on November 13 at 8 p.m.
