The Illinois Department of Transportation is holding a virtual public hearing assessing the state's rail system.
IDOT is wrapping up the Illinois Rail Needs Assessment this month.
The year long study includes information that will be used to develop a state wide plan for improving the states rail system.
IDOT public information Officer Paul Wappel says time is running to take part in the study.
“Anybody can participate You just go to Illinois rail needs dot org and you can fill out a short form. Their electronic, obviously, and you can put your comments thoughts in there. January 21st.”
