2021 Illinois Made Holiday Gift Guide

The Illinois Office of Tourism released their Illinois Made Holiday Gift Guide and features three businesses in Union County.

Just in time for small business Saturday the Illinois Made Holiday Gift Guide features twenty small business with unique products throughout the state.

Union County has three businesses that made the 2021 list.

They are Buffalo Bluffs Hemp Farm, Alto Clay Worksand Shawnee Hills Lavender.

Charlotte Clover is co-owner of Shawnee Hills Lavender and got in the business after reading Midwest Magazine’s article on the top 10 lavender farms in the Midwest.

“When I picked up the magazine and purchased it and read through it, there were no lavender farms in Illinois. They were all in surrounding states, so we started to visit those other lavender farms thinking we had a perfect hillside that we could do that with and that's how it truly developed.”

Their products include from dried bundles, sachets, spices and teas that all include lavender.

The farm is open for U-pick six days in June during blooming season, but their products can be found online and at Annabelle Market in Anna.
