Newer 911 Addresses in Hardin Co. Causing Problems in Concealed Carry Renewals

Images

Changes in rural addresses in Hardin County are causing issues when some residents apply for and renew FOID and Concealed Carry Licenses.

State Representative Patrick Windhorst says the fee is a concern.
"Those in Hardin County who had received their Concealed Carry license on an old rural route address system, and they've since moved to a 9-1-1 address, and they're being required to apply, or request, a new card because of a change in address and that's costing them $70 for the Concealed Carry license. Because it's being treated as a change of address or a lost card."

Windhorst says those residents haven't moved anywhere, the change in address is because of government action, so residents shouldn't have to pay the fee.

The Illinois State Police eliminated paper applications. They're now only available through the state police web page.

Windhorst says those residents need to call ISP and explain that their change of address is for 9-1-1 purposes so that that fee will be waived.
