This Saturday in Carterville more than two dozen performers will headline an outdoor event to help foster families. Les O'Dell is with the Foster Family Resource Center of Southern Illinois and says there is a huge need for foster families.
"There is, a tremendous need, unfortunately there are children in our region going into foster care every day."
O'Dell says money raised will be used to buy items foster families need.
"So if the family needs diapers or formula or clothing and shoes, or cribs, beds or car seats, we will provide that to them, completely free of charge."
Saturday's event, titled "Singing Under the Sky--Songs from the Stage and Screen" will also feature a catered dinner and a silent auction. It will be held outside, at the Carterville Community Center and will be covid-safe.
