Events will be held on campus and many will have a virtual component as well.

Discussions on gender, sexuality, race, and religion are all part of SIU's Diversity Week.

The event features guest lectures, panel discussion and performances that highlight the diversity on campus. Vice Chancellor for Diversity Equity and Inclusion Paul Frazier says the events will help showcase the many cultures and communities that are a part of SIU.

"As you go and you see some of the events, or you listen in on some of the events, that we really have a rich, diverse campus and this week gives an opportunity to kind of educate people on those cultures," Frazier said.

Diversity Week runs through September 3rd, and most panel discussions and talks will include a virtual option due to COVID. Find the full schedule of events on the Diversity Week website.
