The SIU Foundation has created a new scholarship to honor Keeshanna Jackson.
At the conclusion of Keeshanna Jackson’s memorial service Wednesday night, administrators had two announcements.
Dean of Students Jennifer Jones-Hall said the SIU Foundation board of directors contributed five thousand dollars to establish a scholarship for students in the College of Business and Analytics.
“Terry worked with the SIU Foundation, with Matt McCoy and Matt Cooper Act and put together a scholarship fund that will be available for a student out of the Chicago land area, and it will be named on behalf of Keeshanna Jackson.”
The SIU Foundation also created a go fund me page to help the family with funeral expenses.
In the last twenty-four hours more than thirty-six hundred dollars has been raised for both causes.
