The SIU Credit Union Donated five hundred thousand dollars to Touch of Nature.

SIU’s Touch of Nature received a big surprise Thursday from the SIU Credit Union.

Thursday morning Chancellor Austin Lane accepted a check for five hundred thousand dollars from the SIU Credit Union that will help expand the multiuse trail at Touch of Nature.

The money will go to building the SIU Credit Union Event Center.

Director JD Tanner says the addition of the pavilion will make the trail more enticing for tourist.

“When riders pull up and ride the current 10 miles of trail that we have, we're also going to have great outdoor seating space and bathroom and fix it station. Look at their bike and fix things. And just a great outdoor meeting space for us.”

Touch of Nature plans to expand the trail adding on twenty more miles in the future.
