Kentucky Man Killed in Police Shootout

Police

A Kentucky man is dead, after police say he was involved in a shootout Tuesday afternoon in Franklin County.
State Police say the incident started with a 911 call reporting a residential burglary just after 3:00. Witnesses told police the suspect took multiple guns from the home.

A short time later, police located the suspect - 38-year old Joshua Moreno of Bowling Green Kentucky - and a car chase began. Officers say Moreno struck one vehicle, and began shooting at police during the chase.

After Moreno's car was disabled along Interstate 57, police say he hijacked another vehicle and took off again.

Police chased Moreno into an area south of Benton, where they say he got out of the car, and a gunfight began. Moreno was shot and killed in the exchange.

Investigators are still looking into the incident. They say no one else was hurt.
