Grant Applications For School Safety Being Accepted Through June 22.

Thanks to a federal grant,  school districts can help  improve safety. U.S.  Representative Mike Bost's office says out of one hundred sixty school districts nationwide  to receive grants last year, nine of those grants went to Illinois school districts.  This year the deadline to apply for grants up to $500,000, is June 22nd. The grant program was created as a part of the Securing Our Schools Act, which was signed into law in March of 2018.  The Republican from Murphysboro says every school district should take a hard look at how to strengthen safety measures.  To learn more about how to apply, browse to:  https://cops.usdoj.gov/svpp
