Bicyclist Dies on Route 3 in Alexander County

A truck-bicycle crash in Alexander County has led to the death of the bicyclist.
Illinois State Police say 58-year-old David Coleson of Olive Branch was riding his bike around 6 a.m. Thursday on Route 3 near Airport Road when he turned into the path of a truck attempting to pass him.

Coleson was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck, 54-year-old Dennis Bigham of Olive Branch, was not injured.
