The Zeigler-Royalton School District is suspending in-person learning for the time being due to rising COVID-19 cases in the school community.
Officials say as people have tested positive or have been exposed to someone who has – more and more people have been quarantined. They stress this decision is based solely on precautionary measures and they don't believe any students have been in direct contact with a confirmed positive individual.
The district will utilize two state-allowed Remote Learning Planning DaysThursday and Friday. Students will start their remote learning schedule on Monday. The district plans on a full remote-learning schedule through at least September 4.
