WSIU & SIRIS To Hold 8th Annual Classic Vinyl & Media Sale

September 12 & 13 at the University Mall in Carbondale

Carbondale, Ill. -- Find your treasure at the 8th Annual WSIU & SIRIS Classic Vinyl & Media Sale, coming to the University Mall in Carbondale, Ill. next to Kirlin's Hallmark, on Saturday, September 12 from 10am to 9pm and Sunday, September 13 from noon to 5:30pm.

Event sponsors include the University Mall in Carbondale, the SIU Credit Union, Wright Do-It Center in Murphysboro, and the Du Quoin Public Library.

Shop for working stereo equipment; vintage vinyl records, including collectibles; CDs, DVDs, VHS, and cassettes; electronic games; audio books; and other surprises. Musical genres include rock, pop, blues, jazz, big band, country, R&B, soul, folk, and more.

Shoppers looking for one-of-a-kind collectible records should arrive early on the first day of the sale, as people line up well before the 10am start time.

All sale proceeds will benefit WSIU Public Radio and the Southern Illinois Radio Information Service (SIRIS), a special service of WSIU Public Radio and SIU Carbondale for individuals who are blind or whose physical condition makes reading difficult or impossible. Broadcasts include regional and national newspapers, magazines, and books. SIRIS is supported in part by the Illinois State Library.
