A Union County man faces prison time after admitting to battering a woman.

The Jackson County State's Attorney says 43-year-old Kenneth Derossett of Wolf Lake pleaded guilty to Aggravated Domestic Battery and Violation of Order of Protection. He received a four-year sentence.
Both sentences will run concurrently.

On September 16, 2018, Derossett went to the victim's residence, and a physical altercation ensued. During the altercation, he twisted her wrist, forced her to the ground, grabbed her by the neck and picked her up off the ground, choking her in the process.

Following the entry of an order of protection, two weeks after the initial altercation, Derossett was within a thousand feet of the same victim's residence after having been ordered to stay away from her and her residence by the Jackson County Court.
