Vienna IGA to Reopen

Two Vienna natives are planning to re-open the IGA store in the Johnson County town.

Chad and Chance Miles, who currently own Miles Brothers Meats in West Frankfort, will call the store Miles Brothers Foods. It will retain the familiar IGA sign.
Chad says the decision to assume ownership of the business happened quickly after the store closed suddenly in June.

"It's just something that kind of came up. We were both just really interested in it, giving something back to the community."

Chad says the hard work will start after they sign the paperwork next week to officially assume ownership.

"Obviously, got some cleaning to do. We'd like to maybe do a little updating around the building, inside the building, just some minor stuff. Of course, we've got to get with the grocery vendor and get it stocked back up. And get some people hired."

The brothers hope to open the store in late September or early October.
