Valier Man Sentenced for Stealing a Vehicle

Possessing a stolen vehicle sends a Franklin County man -- with a criminal history -- to prison for eight years.

The Jackson County State’s Attorney 45-year-oldDonald Kent of Valier pleaded guilty to Possession of a Stolen Vehicle.
In the early morning hours of September 1st, Carbondale Police officers stopped a pick-up truck traveling the wrong way down a one-way street in Carbondale. Kent was the driver. The vehicle Kent was driving had been reported stolen out of Franklin Countyjust hours earlier. Kent admitted to the officers that he had no clue who owned the vehicle.
