Five Illinois non-profits who help at risk youth with education, vocational and job-skills, will be benefitting from a recently announced grant from the U.S. Department of Labor's YouthBuild program.
In a recent joint news release, U.S. Senators Dick Durbin (D-IL) and Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) announced that $5,370,255 will be distributed among five Illinois non-profits.
Spero Family Services, based in Mt. Vernon, will receive #1,100,000. Spero Community Services Director, Mandy Bernard says the money will dramatically help more than 60 young people with their High School Diploma and Vocational Training.
