A suspect has been arrested for a shooting incident earlier this month in Alexander County.
Illinois State Police say 29-year-old Merced Martinez was arrested by Cape Girardeau, MO police on Saturday in connection with the September 13th shooting of a man in East Cape Girardeau.
Missouri authorities have been looking for four suspects in a pickup truck since the night of the shooting after the four were seen arguing with another man who was later found with multiple gunshot wounds near Illinois Route 146 in East Cape. The victim is expected to survive his injuries.
Alexander County State's Attorney Zach Gowin has charged Martinez with attempted murder.
Extradition to return Martinez to Illinois is underway.
