Update: Carbondale Police Investigate Two Shootings in Twelve Hours

Less than 12 hours after responding to a shooting, Carbondale Police were called to another incident Saturday.Police say they received a call from Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, where a patient there was being treated after being shot.

The call came in shortly after 1:00pm, roughly 12 hours after officers heard shots fired while they were on patrol and found a gunshot victim shortly after.

Investigators say they're still looking into exactly where the second shooting happened. The victim is reported in stable condition, but few other details are being released.

The victim of the first shooting was also taken to Memorial Hospital, where he also was listed in stable condition. Police are looking for three suspects in that shooting - which happened in the 500 block of South Illinois Avenue just after 1:00am. No names or descriptions have been released of those suspects.

Carbondale Police are looking for three suspects after a shooting early Saturday morning in the area known as "The Strip."

Investigators say officers were on patrol in the 500 block of South Illinois Avenue around 1:00 Saturday morning when they heard shots being fired.

The officers found one victim of the shooting. That victim gave police three names of possible suspects, and was taken to Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. Police say the injuries are non-life threatening, and the victim is in stable condition.

Investigators say they're not releasing the names of the potential suspects, as it could jeopardize their search. If anyone has information, they're asked to call CrimeStoppers at (618)549-COPS.
