An elderly Clay County man sustained non-life threatening injuries Thursday morning when two tractor trailers collided in Wayne County.
Illinois State Police say 73-year-old Wayne Fatheree from Flora was flown to a regional hospital. The driver of the other vehicle, 27-year-old Azamat Pardaev of Brooklyn, New York, was not injured.

Troopers say Pardaev crested a hill on Highway 45 and saw a number of vehicles stopped in his lane from a previous accident. He was unable to slow down in time and swerved to avoid the stopped vehicles and hit Fatheree head-on.

Pardaev was cited for Improper Lane Usage.
