A southern Illinois man was seriously hurt when two tractor trailers collided near the Chester Bridge on Thursday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says 52-year-old James Klump of Ullin was taken to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
The driver of the other semi, 42-year-old Charles Barber of Cadet, Missouri, was not injured.

Troopers say Barber was traveling south on Highway 51 in Perry County, Missouri, while Klump was heading north. Strong winds caused Barber's semi to overturn on its passenger side, colliding with Klump's vehicle.

The highway and the Chester Bridge were closed for several hours while the crash scene was cleared.
