Two men were shot late Sunday night and early Monday morning in two separate incidents in Carbondale.

Police say at around 11:25 p.m., they responded to the 1200 block of North Bridge Street after a report of shots fired. Officers learned that a white vehicle left the area at a high rate of speed prior to officers arriving.
A man was taken to Memorial Hospital of Carbondale by a third party for treatment of two gunshot wounds. The injuries were not life threatening, but he was sent to a St. Louis area hospital for additional treatment.

A second shooting occurred at around 12:40 a.m., after an officer on patrol heard shots being fired near the 400 block of North Robert A. Stalls Avenue. Following that incident, another man arrived at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale for treatment of a single gunshot wound. His injuries were also non-life threatening.

Police say they aren't sure if these incidents are connected.

Anyone with information should contact Carbondale Police at (618) 457-3200 or Crime Stoppers at (618) 549-COPS.
