Tornado Watch In Effect

www.nws.noaa.gov/pah

The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch until 5:00pm for the WSIU Radio Listening Area.

The watch, which covers an area from southeast Missouri across southern Illinois into southwest Indiana, means conditions are favorable for severe weather.

A Wind Advisory is also in effect until 1:00am Friday, as gusty south winds are expected to blow 25-30mph with gusts as high as 40mph.

The storms are moving ahead of a cold front, which will bring cooler temperatures to the region by Friday and into the weekend.

Jennifer Fuller joined Capitol News Illinois in July 2023 as the organization’s broadcast director. She will oversee the launch and operations of CNI’s new broadcast division.
