The Illinois State Board of Education has developed a toolkit to help educators understand and explain what to expect from the upcoming results for the PARCC exam.
Preliminary scores from the PARCC student assessment test have been released...and more detailed numbers will follow.
Board spokesperson Laine Evans says their "PARCC Place" website and toolkit can help parents, teachers and schools analyze those results.
"The PARCC scores toolkit will provide FAQ's, talking points, fact sheets, sample score reports and other materials that we're going to be updating throughout the fall to outline what the results will look like, what they'll mean for schools and students, and also to help parents and teachers use the results both to tailor their instructions and support the kids."
The 2015 scores have taken additional time to produce because Illinois educators and their colleagues from other states needed to review students' work to determine the performance level threshold scores. Going forward, PARCC test results will be available sooner so that they can be used to help teachers, parents, and students inform instruction.
