One of the state's largest teacher organizations is supporting Bill Kilquist in the Democratic primary race for 115th District State House of Representatives.
The Illinois Federation of Teachers has endorsed Kilquist. Kilquist is the long-time former Jackson County Sheriff and a current member of the John A. Logan college Board of Trustees. Kilquist faces fellow Democrat Tony Mayville in the March primary. Two Republicans, Bob White and Terri Bryant, are running for their party's nomination in the 115th district race.
