Images

Carbondale Police are searching for a suspect wanted for an attempted robbery Monday evening.

Officers responded to the 400 block of East College Street just after 6 p.m. Monday and learned the suspect approached the victim, implied he had a weapon and demanded the victim’s property.
The suspect fled the area on foot when the victim waved down a passing vehicle for assistance.  The victim was not injured and the suspect did not get any property.

The suspect is described as a white male, in his late 30’s or early 40’s, approximately 5'9" tall, with shoulder length brown hair.  He was wearing a black leather jacket, a dingy white shirt, gray sweatpants and black shoes. The suspect had his face concealed with what was described as a hospital face mask.

Anyone with information about the suspect should contact Carbondale Police or CrimeStoppers at (618) 549-COPS.
