Suspect Caught After Threat to Student in Pope County School District

A suspect is in custody after an anonymous threat was made to the Pope County School District.

On Tuesday, the Administration of the Pope County School District contacted Illinois State Police District 22 regarding an anonymous threat sent via the internet to a student.
Through a joint investigation by the Illinois State Police, local law enforcement agencies, and the Pope County School District a suspect was identified and has been taken into custody.

Illinois State Police and Pope County Sheriff's Department had officers at the school Wednesday to insure safety and order was maintained throughout the day.
