On Tuesday State Representatives Terri Bryant and Dave Severin were live on Facebook for a virtual town hall meeting to update their districts on a variety of topics - and COVID-19 topped the list.
Representative Bryant says the eviction moratorium has had many landlords contacting her office concerned renters will not make up the payments they missed.
“We are aware this is a problem for landlords, it’s a serious problem for many, as banks are looking at foreclosing on landowners because they can’t pay their rent they can’t pay utilities because their rents are not coming in we had to ask for relief from the governor and we’re sit waiting for that to happen.”
The representatives voiced their concern there will not be a legislative session until January a budget short fall from the graduated income tax being voted down, the backlog of unpaid bills and more. They also used this as an opportunity answer questions from citizens and give direction.
