State Police have released the name of the man shot during an altercation with Carbondale Police early Saturday morning.
Troopers say 28-year old Jeremy Spivey of Marion was observed shooting in the direction of a crowd of people. Investigators say a Carbondale Police officer shot Spivey to stop the threat.
Spivey was taken to Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, and later airlifted out of the region for treatment. He's listed in stable condition.
Investigators with the State Police are asking any witnesses to contact them as they look into the case. The number to call is 542-2171.
Spivey was on parole at the time of the shooting. State Police say he has a parole violation warrant, and they expect further charges to be filed as a part of this case.
