State Awards Hospital Funding

Hundreds of hospitals are getting millions of dollars from the state.

As a part of the Illinois Jobs Now program, Gov. Pat Quinn announced $71.3 million in grants to hospitals.

“These investments create hundreds of good construction jobs while helping these hospitals provide better service to the thousands of patients they serve every single day,” Quinn said.

Quinn stopped at several health centers all over Illinois, announcing the funding. His final stop was at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mount Vernon.

Hospitals will use the funds for building renovations, as well as to upgrade equipment and technology.
