St. Louis Man Arrested For Robbing Carbondale Staples

Carbondale Police have made an arrest in last weekend's armed robbery of the Staples retail store on East Main Street.

Officers say 33-year-old Tyler Johnson of St. Louis was taken into custody late Monday night at a Carbondale hotel.
Carbondale Police identified Johnson with the help of police departments in Arnold, Missouri and Rolla, Missouri, where similar robberies recently occurred.

Johnson is charged with Armed Robbery and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition by a Felon for the robbery in Carbondale.

He also had an outstanding arrest warrant charging him with two counts each of 1st Degree Robbery and Armed Criminal Action for the incidents in Arnold, Missouri.

Since his arrest, Rolla, Missouri police have obtained an arrest warrant for Johnson, charging him with Robbery, Armed Criminal Action and 2nd Degree Assault.
