Specialized Equine Services in Makanda, like many other non-profits, has lost money from the economic fallout of COVID-19. SES Co-Founder Patricia Nardini says its been tough.
"We figure we've lost 36-thousand dollars, and it mostly comes from fundraiser. At the pace we're going, by the end of the year, we've lost about 50-thousand dollars."
Nardini stresses SES is not going away, however, if the downward trend continues, she says there will be cutbacks, which could hurt their clients: adults with special needs, and veterans.
SES usually holds two in-person fundraisers every year, but because of the pandemic, these have been cancelled.
To raise money, they are holding a Raise the Saddle Campaign. To learn more, visit: https://sestherapeuticriding.com/default.html
