Southern Illinois Non-Profits to Receive $400,000 in COVID Response Funds

This week non-profit agencies in eight southern Illinois counties will receive 400-thousand dollars to help with relief from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The funds will be distributed in 61 different grants throughout the week.
The 400-thousand is being distributed by the Southern Illinois Community Foundation and the United Way of Southern Illinois and comes from the Illinois COVID-19 Response Fund.

SICF Executive Director Byram Fager said the money from this 3rd Round of granting has expanded the types of support. In addition to help with food, southern Illinoisan’s will get help with Interim housing and shelter, Mental Health, Utility and financial assistance, Rent and help for children and other vulnerable populations.
