Starting March 8th, Select Rural Hospitals Will See More Covid-19 Vaccines.

Several  hospitals in underserved areas will soon be getting 500 extra does per week, of the COVID-19 Vaccine.  Damon Harbison, President of SSM Health says, this is good news.

"There has definitely been a shortage of getting the vaccine out, so programs like this that Governor Pritzker selected us for  within in the state of Illinois is really helping get more doses to where they need to be."

Harbison says this new stock could make it much easier for some people to get the shot.

"Well, it's absolutely huge, because we even have individuals in our community looking outside the community, and where can they travel, even hours away to get the vaccine.  So being able to bring the resources to the people, is priority number 1."

The increased shipments will start arriving at selected hospitals, beginning next week.
