So. Illinois Authorities Investigate Two Alleged Stabbings

A Herrin man is in a St. Louis hospital with a possible life-threatening injury after a stabbing incident.

Herrin Police say 45-year-old Charles Morris was apparently stabbed near 15 Orchard Drive around 5 a.m. Tuesday.

Illinois State Police, the Williamson County Sheriff's Department and Energy Police are assisting in the investigation.

No arrests have been made.

Illinois State Police are also investigating a stabbing along Interstate 24 in Johnson County.

Troopers say when they responded to the report at exit 7 on I-24 Monday evening, they found 47-year-old Monique Alleman of North Dakota suffering from a stab wound. They say the suspect, 45-year-old Dianna Bickford, also of North Dakota, was located in the area and arrested.

Troopers say Alleman and Bickford were allegedly travelling together when Bickford stabbed Alleman.   Bickford was arrested and is jailed pending formal charges.

Alleman was treated and released at the scene by Johnson County emergency personnel.
