The first signing class is set to go for the inaugural season of SIU Saluki women's soccer.
Head coach Grant Williams Thursday announced the first 20 players...18 of them freshmen.
Williams says the players come from all over the country, as far east as Detroit and as far west as San Diego. But the foundation is built in the Midwest with nine players from Illinois, which includes three local players. They are Marissa Basi and Blake Clark from Marion as well as Devin Butler from Harrisburg. The only two non-freshmen recruits are SIU club players... Ashley Moore from Carbondale and Natalie Bethers.
Williams says he plans to add four or five more players for the start of pre-season workouts this summer.
The first collegiate women's soccer match at SIU will be on August 17th.
