The committee that'll help decide SIU's next president met for its first official meeting Monday -- and left with guidelines and timelines for what comes next.
The Presidential Search Advisory Committee will select ten to twelve finalists to forward to the SIU Board of Trustees over the next three months. The Board hopes to have a new leader in place by the end of 2019.
National search firm Witt/Kieffer is tasked with recruiting candidates for the job - including contacting potential candidates and advertising for the position.
The next meeting of the committee - which includes students, employees, and community members - is set for August.
