SIU President Glenn Poshard delivered his State of the University Address to the SIU Carbondale campus Wednesday.
In the speech, Poshard discussed issues facing the SIU-Carbondale campus, as well as higher education as a whole.
During his presentation Wednesday, in the Student Center, he covered 10 different areas including the drop in enrollment, the need to boost education performance and keeping the school affordable.
Poshard also talked about closing prosperity gaps. He described Illinois as two different states, where in some places students and families could afford higher education, while in others they could not.
This is Poshard's second State of the University address in as many weeks. He delivered a similar presentation last week at SIU-Edwardsville.
