The public can now visit the University Museum on SIU's Campus once again.
After being closed due to budget concerns, the Museum officially reopened in Faner Hall.
The Museum's resiliency is something SIU Chancellor Carlo Montemagno says speaks to the University as a whole.
"It's symbolic of SIU. At one time, following the burning of Old Main, it was housed in a large van and travelled throughout southern Illinois."
The Museum's collection has grown to more than 80-thousand artifacts in the last decade.
Patrons can now see art exhibits from local artists Aldon Addington and Larry Bernstein.
