Southern Illinois University's 57th annual Math Field day has been canceled because of the weather.
The event was scheduled to take place Tuesday on the SIU Carbondale campus. SIU Math Department Chair Greg Budzban says because of the inclement weather and the university's weather related closure the event will not be able to take place as scheduled at the SIU Arena. About 1,200 area high school students were expected to attend this year's event.
