SIU Golf Teams Headed to NCAA Tournament Play

May 2, 2019

For just the second time in school history, the SIU Saluki men's golf team is headed to the NCAA tournament after winning the Missouri Valley Conference championship.

The Salukis were assigned to the Louisville Regional (May13-15) as the 13th and final seed.

Head Coach and Eldorado native Justin Fetcho says he isn't worried about the seeding, saying the team has been an underdog all season and is ready to prove people wrong.

The SIU women's golf team earned its first NCAA tournament berth since 2007 when it recently won the Missouri Valley Conference championship.

Saluki coach Danielle Kaufman told Saluki radio that she was not surprised by their success.
Kaufman was named the 2019 MVC Coach of the Year and junior Lili Klekner-Alt earned All-Conference honors.

The Saluki women will compete in a regional in Washington state May 6-8.
