SIU-Carbondale has released the amount of money raised from the second annual Day of Giving earlier this month.
School officials say the event brought in 480-thousand dollars from more than 18-hundred donors.
Jim Salmo, vice chancellor for development and alumni relations and CEO of the SIU Foundation, says the College of Applied Sciences and Arts raised the most money at almost 97-thousand dollars. The College of Education and Human Services had the highest number of gifts at 306.
He says the school is excited about next year since it will kick-off SIU-C's 150th anniversary celebration.
Last year's first annual Day of Giving raised a little over 341-thousand dollars.
