With winter weather due to hit Illinois this weekend, University Housing at SIU-Carbondale will open the residence halls early to assist with travel plans for students returning for the start of the Spring Semester.
All residence halls will open at noon on Friday. A Winter Storm Warning for southern Illinois starts Friday evening through Saturday morning.
Due to the very short notice, SIU-C officials say they're unable to open Lentz dining hall until its regularly scheduled time of Saturday at 11 am.
